Life in KC
Congregation Beth Israel Abraham and Voliner is located in Overland Park, a beautiful economically independent suburb of Kansas City. BIAV is a full-service Orthodox synagogue that prides itself on its commitment to increasing its members’ spiritual growth in the spirit of inclusiveness. We have prayer services three times each day every day. BIAV offers numerous opportunities for learning, both during the week and on Shabbat, and also offers a variety of other programs for all ages. BIAV hosts Kansas City’s NCSY chapter, which sponsors weekly programs for elementary and high school youth.

BIAV members who wish to live within walking distance to the shul can choose from a variety of housing options, from apartments to custom homes. We have an Eruv, which is under regular supervision by the VAAD of Kansas City, and an Eruv Committee. Click here to view the Overland Park Eruv map .

In the heart of the Eruv, joggers, hikers and bikers can be seen on numerous trails at almost any time of day. Overland Park prides itself on the number of parks it has, offering a wide range of playground equipment and playing fields. Johnson County has a wonderful library system, with more than 7 branches, 2 of which are within 5 miles of the Eruv.

For those not ready to purchase a home, there are several beautiful and safe apartment complexes located within the Overland Park Eruv.
