Senator Brownback is receiving the award in recognition of his strong advocacy and friendship with the State of Israel. As one of Israel's closest friends in the Senate, he has visited Israel multiple times, hasaddressed the Knesset, and is diligent in his search for peace in the MiddleEast and for America. The Mordechai Award is presented to someone who epitomizes the devotion to community shown by Mordechai in the Scroll of Esther, which says that Mordechai "...sought the good of his people and was concerned for the welfare of all his posterity." The entire community is invited to attend. Tickets cost $180. An ad journal is being produced. Deadline for sumission of ads is Feb. 9th.
